Teresa Henderson
Executive Assistant, CSEWI
Teresa Henderson is a project manager with CSEWI, a non-profit corporation founded to create understanding, enthusiasm and appreciation for space enterprise and space technology; inspire parents, educators and students to engage in California-based space-related education and enrichment activities; stimulate greater awareness and understanding of the California space enterprise workforce and research needs throughout academia; and to attract, integrate and retain a robust California space workforce.
Teresa has over 8 years of program and event coordination experience, most of which was developed while working at California State Polytechnic University for over 6 years, implementing campus wide retention programs and coordinating activities. After almost 9 years of working in the administrative field, Teresa has obtained skills in management, human resources, communications, event planning and designing, and customer service. As a college student, Teresa formed a non-profit organization that provides outreach to inner city children in Los Angeles community where she was raised. She dedicates her weekends to making sure the educational, mental, and social needs of these children are met by providing tutoring services (specializing in Math and English), as well as seminars, boot camps, and sports activities. Teresa also engages in motivational speaking for youth programs throughout Southern California.
She received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Management and Human Resources, with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurship, Small Business and Non-Profit Organizations from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. After completing her degree, Teresa also obtained the certification to be an Event Specialist, from the Cal Poly Pomona College of Extended University and is currently fulfilling her obligation to receive a certificate in floral design. She currently runs her own private wedding and event design company with her “spare” time.
Teresa is excellent at multi-tasking with exceptional customer service skills. She works well under pressure and always maintains a calm demeanor. She is very passionate about working for a cause, and hopes to aid the California Space Education & Workforce Institute to the best of her ability.
